Swing High, Swing Low

Well, besides the HOT weather - I really had a good day today. I got to talk with a friend(D.B) and customer about decorating ideas and meet some new people just passing thru. I took some pictures of a couple of swings I have for sale-bright green ($ 35) and sage green(sold), the frames are sold seperately. Great for relaxing and swinging after a long, hot day!

Sale Day

Well, today was so hot - we did have some shoppers, but I think the heat and other activities kept most of them away. I would have rather been in a pool someplace too. I am posting some items for sale and a picture of my grandma-Ella Mae and her sister- Aunt Ann- two of my favorite people. They have been here every sale this year and I love their company. They made the day fun and bearable considering the hot weather. I love to hear their stories - they just make you laugh. It was decided the reason that I'm in this junk business is due to my Aunt Ann. She loves to collect, decorate, and just have fun with junk. She always wears fun jewerly and lots of rings. My grandma was sporting her T-shirt I had made for her when I started this business. It say- I'm Ella Mae- and she loves to let people know. She always meant a lot to me and when I was younger- she was always helping me scheme up fun outfits and letting me play in her shoes and clothes. Hope you can stop by next sale and meet them- July 25th.

Little Gingerbread Playhouse

It's done- the little playhouse($200.00) turned out super cute! I've displayed it with some of the children's items I have in the barn. I plan to add a little shelf on the outside to display watering cans or birdhouses, but otherwise it will be fun to decorate with - until it sells!

Collecting Watering Cans

I've been collecting watering cans for a while and they got really popular a few ago. I love to see them displayed together and they're always handy when the job needs to be done. I like them much better than a new one any day! Here are some of mine- and I've got several more at the shop along with a few old childrens watering cans.

Cute little playhouse

Did you have a playhouse when you were little? My sister and I did- and we loved to play in it. It was a little grey shed that my parents had put curtains and a little table and chairs in for us to act like we were all grown up- if we hadn't been in such a hurry. Sometimes I miss those days! It was a sad day when my parents sold it- even though I was too old to use it anymore. My sister recently gave me this little blue playhouse that her twins were not using and my loving husband drug it home for me after some complaining. As you can see it needs some TLC, white paint and a little gingerbread and it will be already for some lucky little ones. Check back for the updated little white playhouse!

Summer Ideas:

Watering cans, old floral trays and a pair of garden gloves can inspire...
Whicker and twig furniture are fun... even old bedrails can become a new "old" flower bed...

Hope everything is coming up roses!

Here are two of my favorite antique roses- the darker one is called Seven Sisters. I have them next to my rescued outhouse- but that's a story for another post!

Display Case from Charleston High School

Here's a wonderful display case that I have for sale. I was told that it originally came from the Charleston, IL High School. It's a wonder that is never got broken. It measures 8' 6" long and 24" deep. It has a marble base and gooseneck lamps on the inside. It is quite beautiful when it is lit up and has glassware or anything sparkly in it. I've moved it twice and suprisingly it easy to take apart and move. I'm asking $ 400 if anyone is interested.
