Mittens in A Row
Well-the month of January is almost to a close-can you believe it-I've told myself that after the next two days-no more winter stuff to post-it's on to Valentine's Day! So I had forgot about this arrangement I had put together years ago when I first started collecting mittens. I used a wool scarf for the background and I love the little strings that kept the mittens together! Hope you're having a great weekend!

Antique Ice Skating Picture and Fun Old Postcard
I used to hang this print in my den in the winter time -I love the winter scene of a couple skating on a pond(most likely with those kind of ice skates from yesterday's post!). I pair it with this old postcard I have .................that reads....... it's that funny?

Antique Metal Ice Skates
I used to collect metal ice skates but don't pick them up anymore and have sold off a few but I find it interesting all the different styles and designs there used to be. I still can't figure out how they kept the darn things on their feet-especially the older wooden ones!
Wooden Ice skates with metal runners and leather ankle straps
Ankle straps -rounded toe
Ankle strap -TC on heel
Ankle strap-design on toe
Heart Shape design on heel
Look at the toe on this one-was that extra part a stopper?

Glass Snowman(?) Bottles
See the white guy in the middle-just bought him where I work. He's filled ingredients to make cookies. Can you see his little snowman cookies cutter and I just love his red hat and mittens. I had to pair all my snowman bottles together with this outdoor print-they needed a winter background! I tried to take close-up pictures so you could see the details of each bottle. Can you see the eyes, nose, and smile on this guy? His little buttons and coat? He's the short guy in the front with the rusty top.
I think this is more of a bear-but I decided to throw him in.
I think this guy may be a small milk bottle? His details are harder to see but he's got face details.
This is the tall guy on the left and he's pretty neat. Or maybe it's a woman carrying a bag? But it looks like he's wearing a top hat! I need to fill them all up with something white, but I would have to find toppers for all of them-oh, well-it was fun getting them together-Have a Great Wednesday!

My Three Stooges
Well... here are my 3 kids... the newest and littlest one at 10 pounds and she packs them in. Miss Maggie Mae and she's no girlie girl-she's all out tomboy-loves to wrestle with Petie and rules the roost around here. She starts our day by barking about 4-4:30 that she's awake and wants to be fed. She will let me dress her up though-even though I know she doesn't like it! I will tell her every day-I want to kiss your white eye and then I want to kiss your black eye! Then there is Mr. Petie or Sweetie Petie/Meanie Petie as I call him. The rescue organization(they all are rescues!) told us he was a little gentleman-he can be, but don't wake him up when he's sleeping(I got my lip bit really bad with that one-should have gotten stitches!). He's grumpy sometimes and other times he's sooo loving-guess we're all like that! He loves to run in the backyard and he's almost like a little race horse-he can go sooo fast. Maggie can never catch up to him with his long legs!

Then there is Mr. Buddy. He just showed up at our door(yard-we live in the country) one day. We tried to find out where he came from-but we also suspected abuse from the ring around his neck and his continued ways today(he acts really scared if we're fighting or the other dogs make a mess). He's the first dog I've ever had-but he's more my husband's dog than mine. My husband will say he's never seen a dog curl up and want to get as close to him as Buddy. My mom calls him Godfree because she believes God sent him to us!
I would highly recommend to anyone to support your local rescue organizations. That's the only way to go for us-so much love they need and a forever home. We love them so much -along with our 3 rescue cats!

The Original Snow Baby Book
I bought this book several years ago for $50.00-yes-I never spend that much-but it was a collector's item and I've never seen another one! I think it's the story of how snow babies began. It's a wonderful coffee table book and has great pictures!

I thought I'd keep with the doll theme this week(dressing up my dolls) and continue to show you my obsession/finds with vintage baby hats!
I used a rather large doll head as my model-so some of the hats look rather small!
I just love htis little dollie with her hat on!

Vintage Red Baby Sleds
I've had this sled for several years and never knew what to do with it-how do you display something like this? It's not as easy as a flat sled! This past summer I was garage saling and picked up this one for $25. Can you see the little red hearts on the back and front and the middle slat says baby!

White Metal Cabinet
I just couldn't sit still on the last day of my weekend(Sunday) and had to go junkin. I know, I'm getting a little bit obsessive about going all the time! But I'm glad I did because I scored this wonderful metal cabinet. At first glance-I thought it was an old refrigerator. After talking with my friend Tete, she said they made these in the 50's to go with that style! It's got that rounded charm and....................... just look at the storage in the inside! And it was only $30!!!!!!
