Googly Eyed Doll
My BF Tete from Beyond the Garden Gate gave me this wonderful Googly eyed doll for Christmas. It is exactly like one she has that was her mothers. Look at her wooden shoes. What a treasure and special gift I received for Christmas!

It Snowed Finally
I walked out yesterday morning at 5:00 am to a white wonderland with big, fluffy flakes of snow. Two days earlier and it would have been a magical Christmas gift. I was still glad to see it though. I love the first snow of the year-everything so calm and pretty at that hour. I took a quick picture as I was leaving that morning to go see my grams(who is still holding on). The snow was all gone by early afternoon-it didn't even look like it had happened, but I really appreciated the gift of snow that God gave us yesterday morning-everything looked so beautiful.

My Grandma-Ella Mae
I went and saw my Grandmother, Ella Mae on Christmas Day. She has become so weak and has lost a lot of weight from not eating. Yesterday my mother called me to tell me that Grams had been put on a IV. I left from work because I wanted to be there with my family. Hospice has been called in. She is alert and talkative. Talking about seeing her parents again and holding her baby that was stillborn. But in the midst of all of that-she said she wanted to stay with us for as long as she could.
This is a difficult time for all of us, but especially for my mother. We all know that Grams is going to a better place, but it still hurts. I woke up last nite at 11:30 and went to the couch with the dogs(they seem to comfort me). I realized that she is my last grandparent. I've always been really close with her since I was little-dressing up in her red high-heeled shoes. I have so many memories of staying with her when I was little and when I was a teenager. Memories that I will treasure.
Please pray for Ella Mae-and her journey.

Happy Christmas
I'm wishing you all a Happy Christmas.
I know that Christmastime is not easy for all of us-but I have to say at the end of the day that I am blessed with friends and family who understand me and go out of their way to make things easier for me. Thank you all so much for you love and thoughtfulness-you mean so much to me!

Vintage Plastic Santa Cookie Jar
I saw this vintage santa cookie jar on someone's blog last nite and knew I had to go back and buy the one I saw in an antique store yesterday. It was too cute to pass up and I plan on making a santa display next year since I managed to only decorate my office and nothing at home.
I love the big face and he will go great with all my light up plastic vintage santa's!

Tall Flocked Bottle Brush Tree
I found something really wonderful last week for only $4.00. This really neat(and I think old) tree. I can't wait to take down all the Christmas decorations in my office and make a winter wonderland. Check back next week and I hope to have it done!
I hope everyone has a very WHITE Christmas-they've taken the snow out of the forecast for us on Christmas eve-so sad!

1898 Christmas Stocking
The lady at work(Nancy) that is my Christmas angel brought in a stocking that was her grandmother's to show me. It is dated inside -1898. I have seen these in a book but never in an antique store where I could buy one. It was so exciting to just get to see one. In a book I have it states(An Old Fashioned Christmas-Time Life Books) In the late 1800's, the first commercially made stockings became available. Most featured scenes printed on thin cotton or linen and were sold either already assembled or as patterns to be cut and sewn at home. The most popular images included Santa decending a brick chimney(I think that's hers), and "x-ray" view of a stockings contents, or scenes of stockings hung by the fire.
The images are wonderful and the material is so light and soft

There are no holes or tears-the material is a little stained but I think that adds to the look

A Christmas Gift to Us
I can honestly say that a rescue pet is the best gift you can give yourself! We so glad to have little Lucky join our family. My sister gave me this little Santa outfit and the only dog it fits is Lucky so Petie and Maggie Mae(both rescues) are checkin him out. He doesn't know what to think-but I think it's adorable on him!!!
Don't forget about all the rescue animals out there-they make the best pets!!!!!

A Wonderful Christmas Party
I went to a wonderful Christmas party last nite at Ann's(why didn't I get a picture of her?) from http://asentimentallife.blogspot.com/ and had such a great time-good food and visiting with friends! Her home(it used to be her grandparents) is cute as a button and decorated everywhere for Christmas.

Candy Canes for My Little Furry Children!
Bought these from the Coles County Humane Associate this past weekend. I thought it would be fun to give them something different for a treat for the holidays. These are quite big so I have to break them apart-our dogs are already a little pudgy-we may have to make a New Years Resolution for them to go on a diet!!!
Do you buy your little furry children anything special for the holidays?

Ghost in the Attic Sheet Music
I know.... it's the wrong holiday. But I was looking for holiday sheet music when I came upon this today. Decided I needed it for $1.00 since I didn't have anything halloween to put on the old pump organ and took it to the counter. The dealer that was there is a really nice lady who I buy off of sometimes and she gave it to me for free!
I'll think of her each time I put it out!

Rescue Me Clifford Towels
I just opened the items we purchased to support Rescue Me Clifford and the stuff is so neat. Can you see that there is a washcloth sewed to the towels as pockets and then a washcloth sewed as a glove to use to wash the dogs. What a cute idea!!!
I spoke with girl who came up with this idea and I'm going to try and find out how I can get involved to support this great cause!
