More Iron Beds!!!!!!

Remember the post about the Mad Gasser house( August 19th) where I got my free farm table? Well, the gentleman who gave it to me also had some old iron beds that he saved from the house and they were in the back of his truck. I asked him about them a couple of time over the last 2 months and he told me he was checking with his relatives to see if anyone of them wanted them. I, of course, told him that I would be happy to pay for them but after two months(even though they were still in the back of his truck) I was just about ready to give up(not that I needed them!-just really, really liked them!). He finally gave me a call and I went by and bought them both for $40. I was pretty excited because they also had the rails(most beds don't). They're in a little rough shape-but I think that makes me like them more. The top one has a great green patina and both have wonderful details! Not sure what I'm going to do with them-but I'll think of something!

Just a note: I read your blog all of the time, and I love it. Love the new background, but I'm having a hard time reading your pale pink text. Maybe it's my old eyes!?!

  2. I love old iron bed frames. The possibilities are endless! I saw an old house upstate that used them for their gate and I thought it was genius. I'm on the look out for an old, skinny daybed frame for my tea room!

  5. What a treasure! I can't wait to see what you do with them. I would love to find some for myself someday...I think I would use them in my yard as a trellis!
Thanks for visiting Red Hen Home!
