I thought this quite unusual(another of Auntie Margaret's treasures!). It's an inkwell-that looks like opera glasses. And someone has painted little designs all over it!

Ella Mae's Poetry Reading
My Grandma has written lots of poems and a whole series of short stories over the years. When she went in the nursing home a few months ago, my mom thought it would be a wonderful idea to share some of them with the other residents. Today was the debut. My mom choose a great mix of poems-something to entertain everyone.

Ready for Planting
I'm ready to start planting, but not as much as my farmer husband. He says the ideal day to plant is April 25th and we've gotten so much rain this year-it may be a while! But everything looks so lush and pretty!

Yellow Flower Shoes
Aren't these shoes wonderful? I bought them several years ago to wear with the dress I wear sometimes for Easter. They've got an old-fashioned look to them with a modern twist! I'm joining Mellow Yellow Monday at http://mellowyellowmonday.blogspot.com/

My Easter Outfit
Here's my Easter outfit. I'm huge on everything matching! My hat has a yellow rose to match my dress and my purse is white with black polka dots and I added a yellow rose to tie it together. I'll post pics of my shoes tomorrow!
My mother says that this is the way the news said you're supposed to wear your hat-down low-not high back on your head. I've always worn my hats this way(people can't see your eyes(and what you're looking at!). I got several comments at church about the way people used to wear hats all the time and the nursing home ladies and gentlemen loved it! I love to see their smiling faces! Hope you have a Happy Easter-Remember the Resurrection of our Lord, Jesus Christ!

Celluloid Grooming Set
All this for only $10.00. I know this doesn't sell for much these days-but I still think $10 was a bargain! It's not white-but it's not yellow either. Don't know what color I would call it!

Cleaning off the Herb Garden
Sunday afternoon my husband and I went out and started cleaning off some of the gardens. This one was so overgrown with prairie sunflowers-it looked like a huge weed patch. We'll have to get out there and start spraying for the weeds-with all the rain we've got-they're already coming up! The Passion of the Christ Movie
If you haven't seen this movie-I urge you to see it this week. It will change your life. If you don't know the love of Jesus Christ-this is a good place to start. When this movie came out a few years ago, I went to see it at the theater. It was so hard to watch I had to turn my eyes away. I try and watch it every year at this time and it still has the same effect on me. This is another way I prepare my heart and mind for Easter.

Vintage Circus Wrapping Paper
I picked this fun circus paper(sorry-didn't get it turned right way) at the thrift store Tuesday for $3.00. If you read my blog last year-I was sooooo into circus items. This will come in handy to put in a cabinet backing or something else fun!

Rose Milk Glass Plate
I picked this sweet little plate up last week at the thrift store for only $1.00. I think some red ribbon wound thru the sides would really dress it up!

More Great Country Finds
I was so lucky to get these wonderful country antiques at a bargain at the Brocton Red Barn. The aprons will come in handy at my sales and the bonnet may be used at Dr. Rutherford's house. I don't have the other items in my collection-so I really scored!

Blue Chair
This is the chair that will end up costing me more than $8.00. It's the one I went out to get from a vendor's van and the wind caught the door and broke the glass out of the window.

2nd Day at Brocton
Tete gave me some suggestions-put the rabbit in the birdcage and move the tray down to the table.
Another suggestion from Tete was to put one chair on top of the table and to move the Easter grass further down into the glasses! We moved Jami's round table outside to see if we could sell it with a fellow vender(no luck)
Tete suggested we move the bigger things to the back so we switched the table and the ironing board! She also said-put that basket up on top!
Over-all sales were o.k. Jami did good on her primitive items-I didn't have as much luck. My friend Tete even had some sales(YEAH). I did learn some valuable lessons though. After having a stomach ache all day(and only porta potties to use), I went out to get a chair I had purchased from another dealer out of her van and the wind caught the door and hit a utility pole and shattered the back glass out of the window-Lesson #1-let them bring the merchandise to you! It was almost the end of the day and after slow sales-I was so upset. Then on the way home my friend Jami lost the swing(I should have sold) off the flatbed and lost a piece of it-Lesson#2-tie things down better.
All in All-I had a wonderful time with my friend Jami. We got to spend an evening doing girly things(she brought pedicure and manicure sets and chips and dip!) and grew closer in our friendship. She is an amazing lady who is so helpful and kind-so the show was not an entire loss because the relationships we make are the biggest reward!
