Celebrate their 50th Wedding Anniversary
On December 28, 1898 at high noon at the James Zimmerman homestead(OUr FARM!!!) near Ashmore, Illinois, Miss Anna Clare Zimmerman, daughter of William and Olive Zimmerman and Mr. Clarence Wesley Snyder, son of William and Margared Snyder, were united in marriage. Rev. George Fisher then pastor of the Ashmore Presbyterian church officiated. About 50 guest were seved a sumptuous turkey dinner(OUR FARM used to raise turkeys) on this occasion. As was the custom 50 years ago, the wedding dinner was followed by an infare held at the home of the groom's parents on the day following. About 30 guests were so entertained at the home of Mr. and Mrs. William Snyder and another high noon turkey dinner was enjoyed by all.
Bottom Half of article mentions Max Coon(my husband's father), a grandson, had charge of a guest book to record the names of those attending in order that his grandparents might enjoy the memory of this day in days to come. The article told of the many guests that attended and where they were from.
